The first act we went to see was Lykke Li, being lock plain-spoken I wasn’t that pushed about contemporary to see her as I’m not the biggest fan of “Schoolchild Novels” but she threw me the first curve ball of the weekend bringing unfeigned vitality to what I recollect are uncommonly dreary songs.
After Lykke Li I met up with some other friends and made my way over to Not any Big Tent to see one of the top of my EP rota, Principal Lazer. Only one half of Greater Lazer were on help – namely Diplo – with Scourge not coming arriving work later over the weekend. The veritable purpose we were there was Diplo, and he didn’t fail in the slightest. He came out of the entrance all guns blazing and never let up for his whole set, mixing in perhaps the pre-eminent remix of “Bonkers” i’ve myself heard. The man is a adept, between pumping it out then managing to carry it redress back down and then cranking it again. Next up was Lisa Hannigan on the necessary lap. Unostentatious.

Popped back to the Short Big Tent after to nab some of James Murphy – LCD Soundsystem eminence – and Pat Mahoney’s set. Honestly enjoyed this as it wasn’t a legitimate thumper, it was fairly half-way between pacific and disco. The set had strenuous LCD vibes and beats direction through it, which was kinda detached.
