Fashion label Diesel has always being legendary for its outspoken brand personality and ability to stand out from the squeeze. However, it seems that Diesel may have gone a step too far with one of its recent advertising billboard campaigns which has now being banned from use.
The posters, which in information, won a top award at the Cannes advertising festival, were banned due to the fear that they would cheer up antisocial behaviour. The ads called ‘Be Stupid’ featured a partner flashing her breasts to a CCTV camera, and another of a woman job her bikini bottoms to take a picture. The brand has stated that the ads were designed to convey “a very marked and unexpected image of femininity”.

s not lost and you can still see the ads for yourself as the Advertising Standards Prerogative (ASA) have allowed the ads to run in magazines including Grazia and Dazed & Ambiguous but have banned them running on billboards as are of the view that they may be considered insolent and unsuitable for children in addition to potentially encouraging antisocial comportment.
