Fashion label Diesel has always being legendary for its outspoken brand personality and ability to stand out from the squeeze. However, it seems that Diesel may have gone a step too far with one of its recent advertising billboard campaigns which has now being banned from use.
The posters, which in information, won a top award at the Cannes advertising festival, were banned due to the fear that they would cheer up antisocial behaviour. The ads called ‘Be Stupid’ featured a partner flashing her breasts to a CCTV camera, and another of a woman job her bikini bottoms to take a picture. We can certainly see why the ads have raised enterprise but you do have to admire Diesel’s bold attitude! The brand has stated that the ads were designed to convey “a very marked and unexpected image of femininity”.

s not lost and you can still see the ads for yourself as the Advertising Standards Prerogative (ASA) have allowed the ads to run in magazines including Grazia and Dazed & Ambiguous but have banned them running on billboards as are of the view that they may be considered insolent and unsuitable for children in addition to potentially encouraging antisocial comportment.
