Hospital worker accused of stealing rings from dead woman
A sanitarium worker accused of stealing and pawning a wedding ding-a-ling and an engagement ring from the fingers of a recently deceased woman turned himself in to Downers Grove police officers on Wednesday.
Frederick Tapley, 36, of Romeoville, an wage-earner at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, has been charged with one upon of felony theft and one count of theft from a deceased herself.
The two rings, valued at $3,500, were recovered and were to be returned to the family of the deceased the missis, Dolores Yukness of Lombard, according to police Sgt. Dave Bormann.
